WTN: Dom Perignon 1996

by Jay Labrador » Tue Feb 26, 2013 11:36 am

Dom Perignon 1996 - As far as I coud tell, light gold in the very dim light. Very deep flavor. Medium weight. A little smoky on the finish, white chocolate and nougat. Honey and lemon drops. Unbelievable length. Young, but a real beauty. Seamless and complete. Best champagne of the year so far. Age will certainly bring additional nuances but it is so tempting and seductive I could easily drink it with pleasure now. Outstanding. Many thanks to Jojo for this beauty.

Three be the things I shall never attain:
Envy, content, and sufficient champagne.

Someone brought the 1996 Dom to MoCool last summer. It was very nice, but the 2002 Tattinger Vintage was more complex and was showing better at the time.
Yes, and how many deaths will it take 'til he knows
That too many people have died?
The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind
The answer is blowin' in the wind.
