Petit Sirah always seems to be a sort of tradition hereabouts as the rodeo folks move on. Parducci has been very popular at the wrap-up BBQ but have not seen on the local shelves for quite a while. Have some Concannon in the cellar so what the heck!
WTN: `04 Concannon P. Sirah, Central Coast.
Good cork, $22 Cdn, opened an hour, not decanted.
Very deep purple color, intense centre. Not much fade on the rim. Nose has dark berry fruits, especially blueberry.
On the palate many thought yum, jammy. Lots of cherry and raspberry but I found it rather dry. Good finish, some tannins present but great with BBQ steak. Not too peppery but some nice spice. As usual far too busy entertaining to fully appreciate, but c`est la vie!
WTN: `03 Vintage.
General comment was that it sure tasted different from the `04. Problem was... corked!!
Back-up was Stella Artois and the `05 Kunde Cab Sauv I never got to taste for last months Wine Focus.
