WTN: Holdredge GWT Saralee'sVnyd '07..(short/boring)

Tried this last night:
1. Holdredge GWT Saralee'sVnyd/RRV (14.2%; http://www.Holdredge.com; 84 cs) 2007: Med.gold rather cloudy color; very intense floral/lychee/hair oil/GWT very ripe/peachy nose; slightly sweet bit bitter very intense/floral/lychee/hair oil/GWT rather primary/huge fruit very ripe flavor; very long slight hot/alcoholic/bitter very intense/lychee/rose petal/floral/rose water/GWT/hair oil off-dry finish; a very intense GWT w/ lots of primary fruit that just misses the over-the-top boundary. $26.00

A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. John's original intention was to make a sweet/LH/dessert wine from these grapes. Didn't happen. This GWT falls just shy of being over-the-top/overripe. Huge primary GWT fruit but not the spiciness of Alsatian versions. With spicy Thai food, this should be very good. Not sure where this wine is headed but the r.s. suggests it will be a lot more interesting in 2-3 yrs. Interesting/delicious out-of-the-box Calif GWT.

Agree this is a delicious and somewhat atypical GWT..Bought this as well as John's 06 late harvest GWT and 06 late harvest Pinot Gris..The stickies are gorgeous..Bought these gems along with some Zin, PN and Syrah when we visited with John and Carrie last month
