I didn't record the vintage but had a glass of each of these at Firefly Tapas during a lunch in Las Vegas. I drank the Albarino white wine with artichoke toasts and tomato bread with Manchego cheese and Serrano ham, and the Rioja red wine with pork empanadas. The Albarino was clear, crisp with a saline minerality. I found it a refreshing, rather full drink with a grapefruit note on the finish, very nice.
Vega Rioja--less expensive by the glass or bottle than the Albarino. Dark crimson color; nearly opaque. Scent and flavor of red currants and dark raspberries with a spicy note. Viscous. Very fruity and not very tannic.
