Sticky Toffee Pudding?

In Karen's Monday night dinner thread, Robert J mentioned something called Sticky Toffee Pudding. This is something of which I had never heard.

This sounds..... um..... sweet. And sticky.

Does anyone here (besides Cowboy) make this? Is it worth making/eating?

OH, yes... this is serious comfort food. Serious to the point that even men gush about it. You do need to find a recipe with the right, sinful texture, though, rather than something closer to a wet fruitcake.

David Rosengarten recommended this dish a few issues ago, and it is just superb. So good I haven't been tempted to try to duplicate it.

We eat this a lot...it's definitely a British thing (I first heard of it when I met my English hubby). You can get sticky toffee pudding anywhere in England. We usually buy the Heinz's Sticky Toffee pudding...we get it at our wine and cheese shop with also has a lot of imported British foods and sweets. I like it but actually prefer Heinz's Chocolate pudding. I haven't made it from scratch though.
