I know several of the forum folk have concerns in this area.

Perhaps perusing the following two-part article will allay some of those worries...or not.

So why did I put this on the kitchen refrigerator here?

I can't help but think about all the wonderful food people may well have been conned out of eating.

I agree with you that people have been mislead over the years on foods that are good or bad for you. In some cases, corporate profits may have been behind the promotion of particular foods. That said, I believe this is an area of study that continues to develop and we are likely to have a different view a few years from now.

I have chosen to shift my own diet toward more natural, less processed foods. Am I sure that this is the best course of action? No. But based on what I know today, it is the one I am most comfortable with from a health standpoint and it has the added value of increasing my enjoyment of food. YMMV.
