Cooking classes, with a difference

by Celia » Mon Apr 14, 2008 11:18 pm

I'm having a lot of fun lately, teaching my friend Dan to bake. Dan is one of my best friends in the whole world, but she now lives in San Francisco, and I'm in Sydney ! So we've been doing cooking class over webcam - she sets up her laptop in the kitchen and I talk her through recipes. We've had two classes so far - she made chocolate chip cookies in the first one, and baked focaccia and white bread in the second. She is an absolute star, because no-one should be able to get such good results the first time round ! Anyway, she sent some pics and I thought I'd share, 'cos I'm so proud of her !

That's my head in the background on the laptop screen ! The nicest thing is that now she know she can do it, she's off - went shopping and bought a whole trolley full of ingredients, and is pouring over recipe books and madly planning what she's going to bake next. Can you see why she's a kindred spirit ? :D

Cheers, Celia

I keep looking at all this wonderful bread you guys keep making, and I think it just needs one thing to make the breads complete - some homemade berry jam to slather on a slice! Which reminds me, I have a frozen tub of prickly pear fruits that I need to cook down into jiuce so as to make some jelly. One day soon...

Cynthia, I edited the post - apologies for the confusion ! If she was in Sante Fe, I'd just get her to learn from you. :)

You look remarkably like Julia in her annual pictures from MOCOOL.
Chico - Hey! This Bottle is empty!
Groucho - That's because it's dry Champagne.
