Parsley, duh...

by Larry Greenly » Sat Aug 26, 2006 1:16 am

I was reading a book about cilantro that recommended that you can keep cilantro fresh in the refrigerator by cutting off a bit of the stem and putting them in water. Since cilantro is a cousin of parsley, I tried the same thing with parsley. It worked! The parsley has stayed fresh more than a week. Duh! So simple and I had never thought of it before.

I snip herbs twice a week from my garden, put them in water and cover with a plastic bag, store in refer. Works like a charm. I take fresh herbs in our RV, in a large plastic jar with a metal hinged lid. Herbs keep up to one week.
