PORTO newbie needs food match help (Part 3)

by AaronW » Sun Oct 01, 2006 10:13 pm

Hey, does anyone like Tawnies or know what to match with one?
I have a Warre's 10 year old. My situation is "desperation". Thanks, Aaron.

My thought would be coffee or cheese (blue cheese as in Stilton is the classic match, but I think there's some room for a wider cheese selection).

Maybe a nut tart might be an alternative if you want a pudding match.

It can also be fine on it's own, after a meal.

I have an unsweetened stilton and walnut tart that works very well with Port without interfering with its taste. Try something like that.

Great choice. Another fine savory match for sweeter wines? Green pea soup.
