Party at the End of the World

Actually, that's the Jimmy Buffet song that heads up my playlist for our get-together on Friday night (GREAT song, by the way, and well worth the price of the download). We'll be attending an apocalypse party in honor of you-know-what. The music includes 22 songs that have titles and themes involving the end of the world, the apocalypse, etc. We'll also be bringing homemade Hostess cupcakes as these will certainly survive Armageddon and "Greed", one of seven deadly cocktails dreamed up by the folks at Hendrick's gin in honor of our impending doom. (Tried out the cocktail tonight, and if you make the full measure, starting with two oz. of gin, it is indeed a deadly cocktail.)

Anyone else doing anything in honor of their last day on Earth?

Have you seen the JellO Pudding commercial? Hilarious.

We're going to a Christmas party on the 21st, but I wouldn't be surprised if the other partyholders didn't have this other event on their minds--their annual party is always on a Saturday. I need to check the cellar for a wine with a name that might have a thematic tie-in. Trouble is, I don't tend to buy the kind of wines that get those kinds of names.

Love your Hostess Cupcakes!

Jeff - I haven't seen a Jello commercial with a tie-in to this. I'll keep an eye out for it.

Jenise - Seems to me that the wines that tend to have those types of clever names are often ones that taste like the end of the world is already upon us. Very appropriate.

Yep, going to friends for soup and salad and to enjoy their always wonderful house decorations, and have some good wine. Then coming home early to bed, so we can get up the next day and go to the last day of our Farmer's Market. They close until April, and I need to pick up EVOO, almonds, pecans and a few other things to get me through the winter.

Yeah, looks like Nibiru didn't crash into Earth and destroy us after all!

Still, the party was fun.
