My morning pick

Is there anything better than a nice cool morning, getting up early and heading for the garden to see what nature has given? Birds are up and singing, no other sounds, except the early morning plane heading north. My favorite time of day.

I'd love to have a collage of pictures like this in my kitchen, or a large one of a very excellent picture...thanks! You just gave me an idea!

Looks like you have the makings for a heck of a bowl of gazpacho there.

Beautiful!

I was thinking salsa, but gazpacho would be very good also!

Just lovely ....a few more weeks before we have tomatoes. My grandmother set the same example going out to the garden in the morning and filling her apron with what she was going to cook that day. She was a fantastic cook. My grandfather, the gardener.

What is a cool morning? We haven't had one in a month.

Don't you just hate that? I love it when it is down into the low 60's in the early morning and being able to open up the house. Looks like we will have it all next week with highs in the 90's. A nice respite after a few days of 110 - 116° and high humidity which is unusual for us. The humidity came from a few thunder bumper days with showers and then high heat right after....ugh.

I looked enviously at your harvest.

But last night I picked my first 2013 tomato - only one - small variety 'Tumbling Tom' bush tomato growing in a hanging basket.

Weather has been good past 2 weeks, temps reaching up to 30 (84F)
