We have a suggestion board in our cafeteria at work. Someone wrote that they want the cafeteria to be gluten free because the sight of bread makes them sick.

Good grief. Such hyperbolic attitudes do little to advance the cause. Intolerance is never appealing, is it?

I picked up a gluten-free cinnamon roll at a farmers market in Philadelphia recently and the baker walked over and said "You want that? It's missing something ." Then he handed me a 'full gluten' cinnamon roll. Gad Zooks it was good.

Well we already have a citrus free building because of one employee's severe allergy.

I've had friends that go on gluten free diets and objectively say it makes them feel better (I trust their objectivity) and others that would say the feel better even if they were eating high gluten food and being told it was gluten free. Seems to be an issue that does affect a small portion of the public but many times the affected number seem to want to clamber onto the bandwagon.

David, if I had to be in contact with anyone as far out as the twit you mention, I think I'd take to wearing a T shirt with a nude piece of high gluten bread on it and drink my coffee from this!

And maybe randomly pin pieces of bread to bulletin boards around the office.

If you are not a celiac who is really bothered by gluten, then read this:
