I Campetti 1998 Monteregio di Massa Marittima Rosato ($7.99)
Clear reddish-copper:
On the dark side for a rosé.
Berries, herbs and aromatic perfume:
A lot of nose for a rosé.
Full, juicy and tart berry flavors fill the mouth:
A lot of flavor for a rosé.
Pretty darn good rosé!
U.S. importer: Vintner Select, Cincinnati; from Marc de Grazia. (June 27, 2000)
FOOD MATCH: Fine with Asian fare, a Chinese "red-cooked" pork dish with star anise and Szechwan pickled cabbage.

All my wine-tasting reports are consumer-oriented. In order to maintain objectivity and avoid conflicts of interest, I purchase all the wines I rate at my own expense in retail stores. |
