Luis Felipe Edwards 1995 Colchagua (Chile) Cabernet Sauvignon Reserva ($12.99)
This one came well recommended, and I'm pleased to say that the rave I heard was borne out in the glass. Does anyone know of this Chilean property? It was a new one on me. Very dark reddish-purple. Ripe cassis and spicy oak aromas with herbal notes. Full, juicy black-fruit flavor, big and ripe, built on a firm structure of lemony acidity; tannins are present but almost fully cloaked by all the fruit. Remarkable wine. I'm amazed that I haven't heard any buzz about this label. Importer: William Grant & Sons Inc., NYC. (Sept. 20, 1997)
